Iron Slag: A Valuable Step Towards Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection with Kavian East of Asia Steel
Kavian Steel Complex of East Asia , as one of the pioneers of the steel industry in the country, provides its customers with a wide range of high-quality steel products, including steel billets, iron slag, and slag cement.
Iron slag is a type of waste produced during the steelmaking process and is composed of impurities found in iron ore. Due to their lower density, these impurities rise to the surface of the molten material during the melting of iron ore in the furnace and, after cooling, form solid and bulky masses.
Iron slag at Kavian Steel is composed of various compounds such as silicates, metal oxides, and limestone. Compared to pure metal, these compounds have a lower density and therefore rise to the surface of the molten material during melting.
Kavian Steel Complex of East Asia , with the national ID number 10380546322 and registration number 691, as the first and most equipped industrial unit in the country, with the aim of 100% processing of steelmaking slag, preventing raw material sales, and helping the environment, with a focus on crushing and melting furnace slag in 2008, started its crushing unit. Also, in 2021, with the aim of creating a complete steel production cycle, it started its melting unit.
